Adoption Advisor

If you are a people-person who would love to help animals find a home of their own, this position may be just right for you! Seattle Humane is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Customer Care Adoption Team. The Adoption Advisor is responsible for helping Seattle Humane foster good relationships between people and companion animals in a fast paced environment and promote humane attitudes towards the care and treatment of animals through education and example.  Customer service experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack!

Transport Driver

Do you love to drive and love pets? Seattle Humane has an exciting opportunity! The Transport Driver is responsible for driving pets to Seattle Humane from various locations both within and outside of Washington. He/she supports the Lifesaver Rescue Program and assists animal processing. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, work well with people and love pets!

Training & Behavior Associate

We have a rare opportunity available in our Behavior department! The Dog Training and Behavior Associate is responsible for administering behavior assessments on incoming dogs. He/she works with behavior program dogs and assists in the evaluation of special-needs behavior dogs. He/she administrates public dog training classes. We are looking for someone with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of dog body language & behavior and at least one year experience handling dogs in a shelter, doggy daycare or training environment. Must also have excellent interpersonal skills and ogranizational skills.

Veterinary Associate

We have a great opportunity available for a Veterinary Associate in our Vet Services department! The Veterinary Associate is responsible for handling incoming calls; email correspondence and other functions for spay/neuter appointments, intake and discharge, public microchips and other supportive duties assigned in a veterinary clinic and shelter. We are looking for someone with great customer service and multi-tasking skills, and who loves to interact with people as well as animals!

Receptionist

Seattle Humane has an opening for a weekend Receptionist! This position is primarily responsible for incoming calls, greeting visitors and processing mail. Must possess extraordinary customer service skills, be able to stay cool under pressure, maintain a positive attitude and love people and pets! This is a part-time position, working 9:00am-5:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Licensed Veterinary Technician - temporary

We are seeking Amazing Superhero Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in the Seattle Humane Veterinary Clinic. 
Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography. We are searching for Veterinary Assistants who can join us in our mission and continue to grow and improve our excellent programs.

Seattle Humane Licensed Veterinary Technicians are responsible for:
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Assisting Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of patients
 -Running diagnostic test
 -General cleaning
 -Following patient care protocols
 -Providing positive guidance to the Veterinary Services Team
 -Pre medicating, inducing, intubating, and prepping patients for surgery

Candidates must have a commitment to the safe care of animals and be open to learning new and advanced shelter/clinic care techniques. The opportunity for positive change will present itself daily and embracing it is how we better serve our patients and clients. This is a full-time temporary position.

Summer Camp Assistant

Are you fun, inspiring and looking for summer work? Love working with and having an impact on kids? Interested in teaching youth what a dog is trying to tell them or how to clicker train a rat? At Seattle Humane’s Animal Adventures Day Camp these topics and many more will be covered in weekly (Monday-Thursday) sessions for youth ages 5-14 years old. We have 8 weeks of camp scheduled, June 25 – August 16, and looking for an enthusiastic camp assistant to provide support to camp leaders and volunteers. This is an 8-week commitment) and would be perfect for teachers or college students looking for summer opportunities! Strong customer service skills, ability to facilitate lessons/activities, flexibility, working independently, as well as a team, and experience with children a must. Camp counseling, animal handling experience, CPR & First Aid certification highly preferred, but not required.

Veterinary Assistant

Seattle Humane is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the shelter’s clinic team. We are seeking someone with experience and a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia for an expanding surgical program. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with senior veterinary students. Strong communication and teamwork skills and a commitment to providing a high level of care to the clinic’s patients are a must. The ideal candidate should share our lifesaving mission and be forward thinking.

Intake Associate

Do you find yourself wishing you could help both pets and people in your community? Seattle Humane has an exciting opening for an Intake Associate. This position involves assisting customers who need to surrender pets as well as supporting our lifesaver transfer program by transporting pets to SH from other shelters around the state. Applicants must be compassionate, have great customer service skills, love animals for this job. Must have strong communication skills, be able to motivate others, and maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations.  Shelter experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack! Must have good computer skills and be able to work independently. We are currently hiring for full and part-time Intake Associates.

Animal Care Assistant

Here at Seattle Humane, we care for hundreds of fabulous felines and cute canines every day and each one requires care tailored to their needs. From feeding and cleaning to grooming and moving, an Animal Care Assistant’s job is fast-paced and fun. Not only do you get to work with amazing cats and dogs, but you get to work with the best darn people around- our volunteers! Animal Care Assistants are the glue that keeps the shelter running so if you're motivated, hard-working, and interested in animal care, apply today! Staff Accountant

Seattle Humane has a terrific opportunity in our accounting department! The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing accounts payable, daily cash ledgers, accounts receivables, accounting system data entry work, reconciling accounts and filing of all appropriate paperwork. Must have excellent computer skills including data input, accounting background and experience and be able to work independently. Intermediate to advanced Excel & Word. Must have excellent oral communication skills, good writing skills and can listen effectively. Understanding of general accounting theory, wage and labor law and non-profit regulations a must. Knowledge of Paycom payroll processing a plus.
