Adoption Advisor

If you are a people-person who would love to help animals find a home of their own, this position may be just right for you! Seattle Humane is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Customer Care Adoption Team. The Adoption Advisor is responsible for helping Seattle Humane foster good relationships between people and companion animals in a fast paced environment and promote humane attitudes towards the care and treatment of animals through education and example.  Customer service experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack!

Research Assistant

Seattle Humane, in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Pets for Life Program (PFL) and the University of Denver (DU)'s Institute for Human-Animal Connection (IHAC), is seeking a bilingual (Spanish and English), detail-oriented, and flexible professional to join our team during a four year study. This Research Assistant position involves collecting a variety of human, animal, and environmental health data from the study community using a combination of door-to-door surveys and desktop analysis of secondary sources. Individuals who are skilled in interpersonal communication and passionate about cultural competence and working with undeserved communities would be great candidates for this position!

Intake Associate

Do you find yourself wishing you could help both pets and people in your community? Seattle Humane has an exciting opening for an Intake Associate. This position involves assisting customers who need to surrender pets as well as supporting our lifesaver transfer program by transporting pets to SH from other shelters around the state. Applicants must be compassionate, have great customer service skills, love animals for this job. Must have strong communication skills, be able to motivate others, and maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations.  Shelter experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack! Must have good computer skills and be able to work independently. We are currently hiring for full and part-time Intake Associates.

Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator

We are currently accepting applications for a Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator! Seattle Humane's Life-Saver Rescue Program is one of the most robust and hardworking transfer teams in the country. The Life-Saver Rescue Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the transport of thousands of pets each year from sources around the country to Seattle Humane, but most importantly from shelters close to home. This job requires extreme creativity, a very strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and compassion for both pets and people. Qualified applicants must be able to manage multiple projects at once. If you’re both a “people person” and an “animal person”, this job might be perfect for you!

Animal Care Assistant

Here at Seattle Humane, we care for hundreds of fabulous felines and cute canines every day and each one requires care tailored to their needs. From feeding and cleaning to grooming and moving, an Animal Care Assistant’s job is fast-paced and fun. Not only do you get to work with amazing cats and dogs, but you get to work with the best darn people around- our volunteers! Animal Care Assistants are the glue that keeps the shelter running so if you're motivated, hard-working, and interested in animal care, apply today! This is a part-time position, shifts require at least one weekend day.

Staff Accountant

Seattle Humane has a terrific opportunity in our accounting department! The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing accounts payable, daily cash ledgers, accounts receivables, accounting system data entry work, reconciling accounts and filing of all appropriate paperwork. Must have excellent computer skills including data input, accounting background and experience and be able to work independently. Intermediate to advanced Excel & Word. Must have excellent oral communication skills, good writing skills and can listen effectively. Understanding of general accounting theory, wage and labor law and non-profit regulations a must. Knowledge of Paycom payroll processing a plus.
