Education Associate

Seattle Humane has a terrific opportunity in our organization. The Education Associate is responsible for assisting the Education Coordinator with implementing and managing Seattle Humane’s educational programs for children, teens and adults. The role includes both hands-on teaching, curriculum development, and program management.

The successful candidate will be the lead for summer and holiday camps. They will also assist with the management and implementation of Humane Teen Club, Teens for Animals, Kitty Literature, Education Tours, Friday Furball Flicks, MaxMobile visits to schools and community events and additional programs in the development process.

The successful candidate will work closely with members of the public, staff, community partners and volunteers who help implement Seattle Humane’s education programs.

Seattle Humane’s programs are designed to engage and inspire participants, and establish Seattle Humane as the primary learning center in King County for companion-animal related topics. The successful candidate will have excellent people management and proven leadership skills, affection for animals, concern for their welfare and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace, and the ability to communicate skillfully and effectively with a culturally diverse staff, volunteers and community in a professional, pleasant, respectful, courteous and tactful manner at all times. We are also looking for someone with maturity, good judgment, professional manner and appearance, good organizational and analytical skills and who enjoys problem solving within existing resources. Must be able to work well independently, while also being a strong team player who is willing to work collaboratively with other departments. This is a part-time position (25 hours/wk) including evening/weekend hours for meetings, orientations or events.

Development Director

Are you a savvy, experienced development professional with a passion for the pups, the kittens, and the critters? We are recruiting a new Development Director to oversee all of Seattle Humane’s day-to-day fundraising activities, with the exception of major and planned gifts. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this senior level position includes directing the annual giving program, special events, third party fundraisers, workplace giving, grants and special fundraising drives and coaching and supporting 3 members of our fundraising team – the Annual Giving Director, Special Events & Corporate Relations Manager, and Development Coordinator. If you can balance budget development, donor relations and setting the bar high for donor retention, stewardship and appreciation, we’d love to hear from you!

Development Assistant II

Are you a tech-savvy lover of data and reporting with impeccable attention to detail? Seattle Humane has an exciting opportunity for you to join our development and marketing team as a Development Assistant! This position on our donor services team supports our gift entry and donor acknowledgment systems. Our development assistant will be accountable for maintaining high standards of data entry, donor relations, and customer service. With training, this position also serves as a back up for the Lead Development Associate and is a key participant in building positive relationships with our donors.

Special Events and Corporate Relations Director

Are you a seasoned non-profit events pro with expertise in fundraising galas, peer-to-peer fundraising, corporate sponsorship, project management, donor development, and everything in between?  Can you juggle the nitty gritty event tasks like securing the liquor license with creating and executing an audience development strategy and soliciting new event sponsors, all while also arranging a workplace giving event?  We seek all this and more in Seattle Humane’s new Special Events and Corporate Relations Director. You’ll be filling some pretty big shoes - running Tuxes & Tails, a nearly 30-year-old gala raising approximately $2 million annually; growing our Mission Impawsible: Over the Edge peer-to-peer fundraiser; developing and launching a new annual community-focused fundraiser in 2019; and cultivating, soliciting and stewarding top event donors and corporate sponsors.  You’ll see and do a bit of everything, from rolling up your sleeves to execute all aspects of an event on a non-profit budget to developing overall strategy for year-over-year growth of Seattle Humane’s fundraising event and corporate sponsorship revenue.

Foster Associate

Foster Care is an amazing way to maximize lives saved by giving animals the time and space they need to get ready for adoption while enjoying the comforts of a home. At Seattle Humane foster care literally saves thousands of lives each year. Our foster families care for every type of issue from neonate kittens to geriatric dogs and everything in between!
We’re looking for a part time Foster Associate to support the development and maintenance of the Foster Program!
The Foster Associate is responsible for support of Foster Coordinators, Foster Volunteers, and the daily ins and outs of the Foster Program. Must have a positive attitude, exceptional customer service skills and training abilities, and must be detail oriented with the ability to multitask. Must have a love for animals and have exceptional dog and cat handling skills.

Intake Associate

Do you find yourself wishing you could help both pets and people in your community? Seattle Humane has an exciting opening for an Intake Associate. This position involves assisting customers who need to surrender pets as well as supporting our lifesaver transfer program by transporting pets to SH from other shelters around the state. Applicants must be compassionate, have great customer service skills, love animals for this job. Must have strong communication skills, be able to motivate others, and maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations. Shelter experience and animal handling background will put you ahead of the pack! Must have good computer skills and be able to work independently.

Veterinary Assistant

Seattle Humane is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the shelter’s clinic team. We are seeking someone with experience and a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia for an expanding surgical program. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with senior veterinary students. Strong communication and teamwork skills and a commitment to providing a high level of care to the clinic’s patients are a must. Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking Amazing Superhero Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in the Seattle Humane Veterinary Clinic. 
Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography. We are searching for Veterinary Assistants who can join us in our mission and continue to grow and improve our excellent programs.

Seattle Humane Licensed Veterinary Technicians are responsible for:
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Daily care of all shelter animals and surgical patients
 -Assisting Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of patients
 -Running diagnostic test
 -General cleaning
 -Following patient care protocols
 -Providing positive guidance to the Veterinary Services Team
 -Pre medicating, inducing, intubating, and prepping patients for surgery

Candidates must have a commitment to the safe care of animals and be open to learning new and advanced shelter/clinic care techniques. Veterinary Associate

We have a great opportunity available for a Veterinary Associate in our Vet Services department! The Veterinary Associate is responsible for handling incoming calls; email correspondence and other functions for spay/neuter appointments, intake and discharge, public microchips and other supportive duties assigned in a veterinary clinic and shelter.
