Adopting a Pet You Meet at Tuxes & Tails

Tuxes & Tails highlights the many wonderful shelter guests the Seattle Humane Society offers for adoption.  Tonight you may meet an animal who seems like the perfect pet for your family.  Although we will not be completing any adoptions at Tuxes & Tails, you will have the opportunity to place a hold on a specific animal and complete the adoption at the shelter on Sunday, April 25. 

Here’s how you can adopt a new family member you meet at Tuxes & Tails:

Visit with our staff adoption advisor at the Tuxes & Tails adoption booth and complete a pre-adoption questionnaire.  The adoption booth will be open from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  They will go over the adoption procedures with you.  They will also have detailed information about the shelter guests you’ll meet at Tuxes & Tails.

Place a courtesy Tuxes & Tails hold on the animal you would like to adopt.  There is no fee to do this. We will take two holds for each animal on a first come, first served basis. The first hold expires on Sunday, April 25 at 12:00 noon.  If they do not adopt the animal, the second hold will have the next opportunity up until 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25.  The Seattle Humane Society will be open from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25 exclusively for Tuxes & Tails guests.  You may adopt any animals at the shelter during this time if they do not have holds on them whether or not they appeared at Tuxes & Tails.  If you go home and decide to release your hold, please contact the shelter at (425) 649-7562 right away to make the pet available to the next hold.
